The Bo Gets Silver

Kim Godleman from 5 Senses Coffee came home with silver at the Western Australian Latte Art Competition on Saturday 8 July.

After missing his freeway exit three times in a row and nearly going as far north as Warwick Road, Kim, or The Bo, as he is affectionately known at the Roastery, arrived at the Western Australian Barista Academy in Northbridge quite flustered and nervous. He then managed to shake his nerves and pull himself together for a stellar performance dripping with ability and of course, the unique charisma that is only reserved for The Bo.

The Bo had eight minutes to set-up, eight minutes to perform and eight minutes to clean. During his performance time The Bo produced six coffees in total. The first two were standard rosettas that were totally identical, but it was the signature drinks that wowed the judges. The judges even responded with a look of surprise, with one judge commenting with a “wow” as they were placed so smoothly on the table.

Congratulations also to Megan Aguero who is ex Core Espresso and now is part of the team at Epic Espresso in West Perth who won gold. Megan was obviously well rehearsed and polished as she produced a fantastic double rosetta poured with milk jugs in both the left and right hands at the same time. Megan will be flying to Sydney in the next few weeks to compete in the Australian Latte Art Competition.
