"Welcome to Five Senses Coffee"

Like the smooth texture of velvet the new Perth cafe with the same name has opened with seamless perfection and from day one has produced perfect coffees with a blend that is smooth and sweet, complex — and flavoursome.

Velvet Espresso is a product of the passionate Dockers supporter, Justin Kenny, who is also well renowned in the Perth cafe scene as the original proprietor of Fix Espresso in West Perth and also owned Grind Espresso in Trinity Arcade.

After Fix, Justin enjoyed a three month break for the birth of his second child and then began a long search for his new adventure.

With his new venture, he’s now back into the cafe scene, “I think coffee is my life and no matter what I do — I think it will always involve coffee in some way,” said Justin. “I spent a few months with a famous roaster in Florence, Pietro Staberini, who owned a few cafes too — one being Cafe Piansa, and I think it was then that my love for coffee extended to a life-long passion.”

Velvet is located in the CBD, just off St Georges Terrace on King Street. At the moment, armed with his three group Synesso Cyncra, Justin is the creator of every coffee produced so you can be sure that consistency is the key.
