"Welcome to Five Senses Coffee"

New to the Five Senses stable of espresso bars is T5 Espresso. Located in Joondalup, it’s proving to be a star in the north.

Starved of good coffee, the far northern suburbs have welcomed someone who is committed to consistency and quality. Armed with a Synesso, T5 Espresso is the product of Terry and Teresa Mason and has quickly developed interest and publicity from popular coffee websites such as Coffee Snobs and Café Grendel.

Two years ago, Terry gave up his love for Coca-Cola and took up the wonderful beverage that is coffee. Since then his passion for coffee has spread far and wide amongst family and friends. He began by investing in a domestic coffee machine and grinder and soon after Terry and his wife, Teresa, started talking about the dream of opening an espresso bar.

That dream, driven by their passion for coffee, turned into a reality when T5 Espresso opened in early May of this year.

Why T5, you may ask? Well … there are five members in their family and all their names begin with the letter ‘T’. Starting with Terry and Teresa, the kids are Teagan, Tyler and Trent. They have actually been signing Christmas and birthday cards as ‘T5’ for years.

Unfortunately Terry has a day job, so during the week T5 Espresso is managed by Teresa. It isn’t ’till Saturday, their busiest day, that Terry actually gets his chance to take a drive on the Synesso.

The couple decided on Joondalup because they wanted to be local and believed that quality coffee was really missing in the area. They have been operating for 7 weeks and in that time the number of coffees per week has increased by 700%. They attribute the amazing success in such a small period of time to hard work and word of mouth. “If your coffee is consistently good, people will come back… and tell their friends,” says Terry.

At this stage, T5 Espresso is open from 8am to 4pm during the week and 10am to 2pm on Saturdays. In the summer months, they plan on opening for longer hours, especially Friday nights for the Joondalup markets.
