5 Senses was buzzing with interest

The Melbourne Food and Wine Festival is one of the great food festivals of the world. In fact, it’s the largest of its kind anywhere in the world. The month-long festival celebrates all aspects of the food world and 5 Senses had the privilege of participating in two events this year.
The Festival’s ‘World’s Longest Lunches’ are highly anticipated events held at scenic locations across Victoria. A crowd of 250 food enthusiasts gathered around one enormous table under a sunny sky at Red Hill on the Mornington Peninsula to experience the delights of local producers, including coffee from the 5 Senses crew.
Another beautiful day dawned for ‘Celebrate the Bean’, a coffee lover’s paradise hosted on the water’s edge at Waterfront City in Melbourne’s Docklands. The 5 Senses marquee was buzzing with interest — aside from being the most interesting, it was also jam-packed with patrons all day. The thirsty crowd kept the 5 Senses team busy, as they enjoyed our award winning City Espresso Blend and sampled the various single origin coffees we showcased throughout the day.
The Balinese Gunung Batur was our first single origin on offer — an aromatic coffee as soothing as a warm Balinese night, big but not brawny, with resounding milk chocolate and fruit notes.
Upping the pace, we then offered a certified organic coffee from Uganda — the Ugandan Bugisu ‘Sipi Falls’ Certified Organic. This is a single origin favourite at 5 Senses! Its syrup-like sweetness is balanced by floral and citrus notes lingering in a rich, smoky aftertaste.
Finally, to give the masses a coffee experience to top off their day, we offered a stunningly unique coffee from the heartland of Ethiopia. This is an aromatic and complex single origin with floral high notes and delicious hints of lemon acidity.
The day was a roaring success, with 5 Senses coffees satisfying the appetites of coffee enthusiasts from around the State (and beyond), even earning a thumbs up from Melbourne’s Lord Mayor John So.
