Bigger, better steam wands

Our tech guys have been hard at work figuring out how they can improve the milk steaming capability of Isomac machines. After plenty of research and extensive testing in the workshop, it all came down to the steam wand tip.
Isomac machines feature cool-touch steam wands — double insulated wands that you can touch without burning your hand. While this is a great safety feature, we’ve found that it comes at the expense of the quality of your steamed milk. That’s a big price to pay.
After lots of discussion and testing, we discovered that our staff members who own the earlier models, which don’t have the cool-touch steam wands, produced better textured microfoam milk than those who have machines with the cool-touch steam wands. Furious research and testing followed, and we determined that the problem lay in the steam wand tip. It appeared that the holes in the new steam tip are too large for optimum steaming. We will work with Isomac to improve this on future models. In the meantime, we came up with a temporary solution — we simply needed to put the old steam wand tips on the new cool-touch steam wands.
It was here that we ran into a problem. The old steam tips have a female thread, and the new steam tips have a male thread. If you’re ignorant of workshops, screws, bolts and the like, you might think that male and female threads should work together perfectly. Apparently not!
Our tech experts went to work, and developed an extension piece that allows the old steam tip to fit onto the newer cool-touch steam wands. After a few final tweaks to ensure that the steam wands remain cool to the touch (an alteration involving extending the Teflon insert and the addition of a few O-rings) the steam wands are ready for purchase.
