Momo Sushi unearthed

Momo Sushi is a stylish, modern space situated next to Melbourne University. On entering you will be welcomed with a huge range of fresh, hand rolled sushi. My personal favourite — fresh, crispy prawn sushi rolls — ten please!
Surrounded by the hustle and bustle of university culture, Momo is a great place to relax, enjoy the free wifi and, not surprisingly, sip some amazing coffee. The name means ‘peach blossom’ which symbolises prosperity.
Owner Robin Yong takes enormous pride in his coffee and is constantly making adjustments to bring out the best in his Brazil Blue blend. There aren’t many places in Melbourne combining amazing sushi and coffee, and Momo is arguably the best in Melbourne with this combination.
Robin left a high flying career in accounting to follow his passion to be part of Melbourne café scene. Today as many people come to Momo for the coffee as do for sushi. In a relatively short time Robin has mastered the art of coffee making and has now begun a new adventure in home roasting.
His latte artwork is so good that he was included in an artwork feature in Bean Scene magazine. Tulips and double rosettas are no problems for Robin. His artwork pouring is precise, clean and consistent. Five Senses has even called on Robin’s help at Melbourne food and wine festivals!
