Green Tambourine Plays a Sweet Tune

Start with a veteran café operator, add a classic bluestone building, sprinkle in a beautiful park setting and top it all off with Five Senses Coffee. What do you get? A recipe for a venue with the potential to become an iconic coffee hub.
After operating various successful Melbourne cafes for nearly 20 years, Green Tambourine owner Adam Fawal has returned to his roots to secure an amazing space in the booming inner Melbourne suburb of Brunswick and open an incredibly enchanting cafe. The name Green Tambourine comes from a classic 1960’s song about a busking folksinger, a fitting tribute to the vibrant local community. The bluestone building is one of the oldest in the area and is packed with history and character. For visitors to the area, Green Tambourine is a cozy homestead in the winter months and a lively space in warmer seasons, boasting two courtyards and an adjacent park and playground.
Adam’s experience and passion for food is obvious. His coffee selection features a popular blend that is characterised by a heavy body, medium to light mouthfeel, a hint of golden syrup and a well-rounded sweet aftertaste. Additionally, he rotates through Single Origins to provide customers with a chance to explore exotic and exciting nuances in coffee. Breads are a spotlight here and range from rustic sourdoughs to rye varieties. Some fantastic and delectable cakes fill the cabinet and there is a big range of fresh pastries.
The Synesso set-up peeps out of Green Tambourine’s front window and into the heart of Brunswick town, close to the corner of Sydney Road and Albion Street. As Adam and his team gear up for Green Tambourine’s first big summer, the locals have already cheered at the arrival of great coffee, food and service to the area. Picnic hampers are on their way as Melbourne welcomes in the warm weather!
