Bar None

After two very energetic years operating out of a frantically cramped 20 seater of a ‘coffee nerds’ shed’, Bar 9 has finally stepped it up in terms of size, quality, and overall vibe.

When the gorgeous old heritage institute building became available directly across from Bar 9’s original stomping ground, it was a ‘no brainer’ that relocation was in order. So after a couple of months of renovations, Bar 9 literally moved across over night, with only three hours of trading time being interrupted.
Bar 9 Eastwood still maintains the same feel as before, with an eclectic mix of warm, wooden furnishings and urban street sprawl vibe. Stencil and street art adorn the walls and a giant wooden brew bar (nicknamed the baristas’ table) greets you upon entering.
A whole new kit of exciting barista gadgets are on hand, including a brand new 2nd generation Synesso Hydra and multiple grinders for espresso, which is offered as light and medium roast, single origin or their house blend. Meanwhile a Marco Uber Boiler and halogen heat lamps ensure consistency on the brewed coffee front.
The food side is getting ready to step up too. They kitchen is yet to be finalised, however when it is, Bar 9 has two eager chefs who are looking to take fine dining, quality produce and top techniques and make them accessible in your everyday fare. Items like pork belly ciabatta with segmented blood orange, and bio-dynamic South Australian beef meatballs on soft baguette are already available, but these are just the beginning.
Bar 9 is well worth a visit – so be sure to check it out.
