Filter Roast
The best way to taste nuances in coffee is by brewing through a filter (Clever Coffee Dripper). Especially with single origins a filter brew provides you with many flavours from the tasting wheel that you just cannot achieve through espresso. To get the best out of a filter brew the coffee needs to be roasted lighter which allows a lot of the bright characters and subtle nuances that are usually not detected in an espresso style roast.
This coffee, roasted lightly, specifically for all slow brew methods such as: filter, plunger and syphon, is one of our current single origins. The selected origin will be what we are currently enjoying around the roastery. Many Five Senses staff regularly drink filtered coffee and their continued experimentation and input determines which single origin is chosen as our Filter Roast coffee.
Our Ethiopian – Yirgacheffe is our current filter roast favourite and is a perfect choice for those of you who are introducing yourself to this method of brew and roast style for the first time.

Cupping Notes
A ridiculously well-balanced coffee with a light-medium body and delicate hints of lemon and peach. Flavours are slight and acidity is refined.
