Blackcurrant & red grape, sticky body with a lingering-sweet aftertaste.
Heza Washing Station is located on Gitwe Hill, the lot has been built via a collaboration between the washing station and local farmers in the surrounding areas. Gitwe carries deep scars from it’s violent past. With the help of the Long Miles Coffee Project team, unity amongst the people is being rediscovered and stunning coffees are being produced. Expect flavours of blackcurrant and red grape a sticky body and a lingering sweet aftertaste.
To stabilise the environment and build the soil health of the coffee growing lands in Kayanza province, Burundi (where this coffee comes from!) we’re supporting our partners Long Miles Coffee Project in an ambitious reforestation project. Extending the stretches of green from the existing Kibira rainforest, the project will be focusing on the planting of 15,000 seedlings and the establishment of a Forest Scouts programme to support the community with skills and knowledge to bring their lands to life.
