St Rose has been adored by Essendon locals since 2013 when Diana and Domenic Caruso brought their love of both hospitality and design to Rose Street. It’s an intimate, timeless space which welcomes you like a second home.

Having met at the end of high school, both Diana and Dom dabbled in careers in aviation before choosing to spend their lives creating spaces to share their love of food and coffee with the community. One of many young families in the area, they struggled to find a beautiful place locally, searching long and hard before they found a space which made them feel both comfortable and connected to the Melbourne scene – welcome to St Rose.

White brick and timber rise from polished concrete, while natural light bounces around the soft, leafy space. You may be handed a scrumptious Dark Horse brew before catching a train (Essendon Station), or you can nestle in with a hand poured filter brew and take your pick from the creative and scrumptious menu. Their bircher may just be the best to have tickled my tastebuds, with Salmon & The Rye another firm favourite.

St Rose has been designed to treat guests as family and this is reflected in its intimate and timeless nature.

This, according to Diana and Dom, is what satisfies them – effortless interactions which are constantly creating friendships. So please, drop by for a tasty brew or settle in for a feed. You are welcome!
