Forty kilometres from the hustle and bustle of the Sydney business district you will find Wolfe & Co, a lively café owned and operated by Che and Caroline. Nestled amongst the greenery of the north-western Sydney suburb of Dural, Wolfe & Co has rapidly become a favourite for coffee and food lovers from suburbs near and far.

Che, who originally hails from Noosa, is eminently well qualified to run Wolfe & Co. Having owned cafes across Sydney and Melbourne and holding senior positions in prominent hotels and nightclubs, his hospitality credentials have been fined tuned for the past 25 years.

Prior to opening Wolfe & Co, Che met his wife Caroline in Melbourne where they embarked on a journey through the UK and Asia, revelling in the varied tastes of the regional cuisines. Returning to Sydney they put down roots and set about drawing on their rich experiences and professional backgrounds to bring to life an exciting and innovative menu for the burbs including, of course, some spectacular coffee!

Avocado: heirloom tomato, beetroot goats curd, beetroot textures, lemon salt, sourdough. Breakfast Burger: horizo negra, mallorquina scrambled egg, manchego, green aioli, avruga caviar, milk bun. Tokyo Niçoise: black sesame crusted seared tuna, green bean, heirloom tomato, wakame, pickled daikon, miso vinaigrette. Truffled Mushrooms: herbed local flat mushroom, mushroom pâté, ricotta salata, black truffle, nasturtium, five grain sourdough. Spring salad: asparagus, zucchini, pea, radicchio, burrata, preserved lemon, olive crumb. Wolfe burger: house-minced patty, cheese, zuni pickle, tomato, butter leaf, eschallot, mustard, tomato ketchup, milk bun, fries. Tiger Prawn Roll: Panko crumbed tiger prawns, iceberg, apple, chive, lobster mayonnaise, long milk roll, fries.

Searching high and low for the right site, Che and Caroline eventually settled on a former deli on Old Northern Road in Dural. Named after their toddler, Wolfe, this new institution opened in October 2015 with a great team turning out a range of excellent specialty coffee alongside an exciting array of yummy and beautiful dishes.

With over eleven thousand Instagram followers, the proof’s in the pudding! Not bad for a café in the ‘burbs.

For the sweet toothed, the Rocky Rd French Toast is a glorious combination of strawberries, toasted coconut mascarpone, Turkish delight and raspberry gel, while more savoury palettes can enjoy truffled local flat mushrooms with mushroom pâté, ricotta salata, black truffle, nasturtium and five grain sourdough. There are, of course, plenty of other creative options where these came from with an evolving seasonal menu.

Pairing with their strong food game, Che and Caroline have jumped fully down the specialty coffee rabbit hole, investing in a quality Synesso espresso machine and offering the region some of the best brews around. Currently featuring our Dark Horse blend, milk coffee drinkers are treated to a complex cup – some great juicy acidity based out with a full body. If you enjoy black coffee, you’re in luck: Wolfe & Co feature a rotating range of our seasonal single origin coffees on espresso and for something more refreshing in the summer heat, check out their tasty cold brew options.

With a new year engendering new dreams, Wolfe & Co is expanding next door in 2017, adding 50 seats and opening for fully licenced dinners. This summer, Wolfe & Co is also the exclusive food partner for the Smoothfm Sydney Hills Outdoor Cinema from January 12 – February 12 serving up a sweet range of cold brews amongst other goodies. If you haven’t already ventured out to Wolfe & Co, put it on your agenda right now because – trust us – your taste buds will thank you!
